Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Moniteau (01/15/14) JVs Also Victorious

The Clarion Area Varsity Basketball Team hosted Moniteau, on Tuesday, and came out on top by a 75-54 score.  The Cats were led by Antonio Troese, who had 18 points and Cody Hearst who had a career high seventeen.

Also scoring in double figures, for Clarion, was Taylor Smith, who scored ten points.

The game was very fast paced with both teams pushing the ball up the floor and working the inside game, quite extensively.

Clarion led 19-9, after one period and 38-15, at the half. The second half scoring was pretty even, with the Cats outscoring the Warriors, by one, 23-22, in the third period, to lead 61-37 and then Moniteau outscored Clarion 17-14 in the fourth period to set the 75-54 final.

J. Bair led the Warriors with a game high 29 points.

The Bobcat JVs won their game by a score of 49-42.

Moniteau led 7-5 after one, but a 17-10 Bobcat advantage, in the second period gave Clarion a 22-17 halftime lead.  The Warriors outscored the Cats 18-14, in period number three, and now Clarion only led by one, 36-35, heading into the fourth period. A 13-7 Bobcat advantage, in the last period, set the final.

Zach Hill had ten points for the Bobcat JVs. Brothers, Ryan and Reed Anthony each had 9 points. Derek Lauer had seven points. Micheal Bartley had 6 points, Ty Burford had 4 and Christian Kerr and Luke Nellis each scored two points.

Josh Adamson had 14 points and Adam Martorella had twelve, for the Warrior JVs.

The Bobcats will travel to Keystone, on Thursday and then host Karns City, on Friday.
