Clarion Area Elementary Wrestlers Take Part In Several Tournaments (01/15/14)

Some of our Clarion Elementary Wrestlers participated in several tournaments this past weekend. They represented our team well in both the open and novice divisions. In Meadville, Owen Reinsel loss to the 1st place finisher in the first round but came back and won 4 in a row to earn 3rd place.

In the Ridgway Open Tournament, the C-L trio wrestled tough in their first open tournament this year. Brothers Ben Smith (4th) and Jake Smith (3rd) both wrestled aggressively. Chase Makray, coming back to the sport of wrestling this year, almost pulled off a tournament 1st but ended 2nd in a hard fought match.

At the Seneca Valley Novice Tournament, Noah Harrison, Dawson Smail, and Derek Smail all finished a strong 2nd place in a usually very tough novice tournament.

On Sunday at Ridgway Novice Tournament, we had all 8 Clarion novice wrestlers placed in the top 3!  Brady Pearce, Mason Gourley, and Derek Smail dominated their respective weight classes. Dawson Smail, Hayden Weber, Hayden Hindman, and Riley Dobrowski all wrestled with lots of determination to earn 2nd place. And finally, Chase Dobrowski continue to improve and surprise his opponents by placing 3rd.
