Homestanding Clarion Boys down Keystone On Saturday (02/09/14)

Taylor Smith and Ellis Painter each scored in double figures as Clarion defeated Keystone, 45-37, at home, on Saturday. Smith had 14 points, including three treys and Painter had 10 points and six rebounds.

The Cats outscored the Panthers in each of the first three periods, and led 11-8 after one, 20-15 at halftime and 33-18 at the three-quarter mark. A 19-12 Keystone edge, in the last stanza, set the final.

Also for the Bobcats, Cody Hearst had 8 points, Antonio Troese had 6 points and 7 rebounds, Brendan Miller had 4 points and 6 rebounds and Steven Smathers had two points.

The Panthers’ Adam Lencer led all scorers with 20 points and Alex Graff had eight.

The Clarion JVs won their game 32-24. Keystone led 10-3 after one quarter and 14-12 at the half. The Bobcats outscored the Panthers, 11-2, in the third to take a 23-16 lead going into the final period. A 9-8, Clarion advantage, in the fourth, set the final.

Craig Kerr led the Bobcat JVs with eight points. Derek Lauer and Reed Anthony each had five. Zach Hill had 4 points, Nadir Lynch and Ryan Anthony had 3 apiece, while Michael Bartley and Luke Nellis both scored two.

Braden Shick and Chris Braun led the Panther JVs with 7 and 6 points respectively.

The Bobcats will travel to Marienville, on Monday, to play the East Forest Bears.
