Several Bobcats Named To 2013 WesternPAFootball.net All-Western Pennsylvania Small School Team (01/10/13)

The WesternPAFootball.net 2013 All-Western Pennsylvania Small School Team was announced on Thursday, January 9th, and several members of the District Nine Class A Champion, Clarion Area Football Team received Honorable Mention.

Named to the Team, which is made up of players from Class A and AA schools, from Districts 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, for the Bobcats, on the Offense were Senior, Cody Hearst at Wide Receiver; Senior, John Katis at Quarterback; Senior, Damien Slike at Running Back; and Senior, Antonio Troese at Kicker.

On Defense, Junior, Ian Corbett was named at Linebacker and Sophomore, Brendan Miller was named at Defensive Back.

Other KSAC players named to this year’s Team include the following Honorable Mention selections: Redbank Valley Kicker, Zane Watson; Union Punter, Shane Murphy; Brookville Running Back, Zach Vroman; Karns City Quarterback, Tyler Kepple; and Moniteau Defensive Back, Cody Skiver.

Other District Nine Players named to the Small School Team were: Curwensville Offensive Lineman, Ricky Magnuson, who was the District’s only Small School First Team Selection and the following Honorable Mentions: Brockway Wide Receivers, Anthony Benson and Anthony Isabella; Kane Wide Receiver, Jeff Kocjancic;  Brockway Quarterback, Alec Shaffer-Doan; Kane Quarterback, Kevin Cleer; and Curwensville Running Back, Zack Tibbens.

District 10 Small School Selections from our region include: Lakeview Lineman, Sam Breese and Running Back, Blake Reddick and Greenville Punter, Tyler Fattman, all named to The First Team.

Matt Shaffer of Richland Township was named Small School Offensive Player of the Year. Small School Defensive Player of the Year was Dravon Henry of Aliquippa and Small School Coach of the Year was Bob Ravenstahl of North Catholic.

The Large School Team (Class AAA and AAAA) was named on Friday, January 10th. From District Nine, there were five Clearfield players named and two from the Dubois named.

For The Bison, Christian Lezzer is the Defensive Player of the Year, in addition to being named First Team Defensive Specialist. Also making the First Team is Kicker, Spencer Herrington. Herrington also was named Honorable Mention Kicker.

Their Teammates who made Honorable Mention are: Offensive Lineman, Hunter Keith; Running Back, Tyler Stratton and Defensive Lineman Jon Janocko.

For Dubois, Wide Receiver, Bryson Paulinellie and Quarterback, Gabe French both received Honorable Mention selections.

Two District 10 players from our region received Large School Honorable Mention nods, Oil City Wide Receiver, Logan Way and Slippery Rock, Offensive Lineman, Colton Raabe.

Joining Lezzer for Top Large School Awards were, Cathedral Prep’s Billy Fessler, Offensive Player of the Year and Central Catholic’s Terry Totten, Coach of the Year.
