Ian Corbett Named TCS/C-E Track Athlete Of The Year (06/03/14)

Clarion Area’s Ian Corbett was named Boys Track Athlete of the Year, as the The Tri-County Sunday and Courier Express newspapers, from Dubois, announced their 2014 Track and Field All-Star Teams in Sunday’s edition of the TCS.

The Bobcat junior, was named to the team in the 100, 200 and Long Jump. Corbett was the fifth place winner in the  Class-AA 100, at the PIAA State Meet. He was the District Nine Class-AA Champion in that event as well as the long jump. He finished second in Districts in the 200. He also joined fellow Bobcats Cody Hearst, Zach Hill and Matt Wagner, on the 4×100 relay, on this year’s All-Star Team. The 4×100 relay  also finished second at Districts.

Fellow Bobcat, Liam Raehsler was named to the TCS/C-E Squad, in the 3200. Raehlser was the District Nine Class-AA Champion in that event. Lady Cat, Jenn Ochs was named to the TCS/C-E Team in the javelin.

Elk County Catholic’s Kennedy Weisner was named Girls Track Athlete of the Year. The Lady Elker capped her career by repeating as Class-AA State Champion in both the 800 and 1600 runs. She has committed to run for Georgetown University. Rebank Valley discus thrower, Korbin Hornberger was named Boys Field Athlete of the Year. Hornberger finished seventh at States, in Class-AA. Girls Field Athlete of the Year was Ashley Imbrogno, from Johnsonburg, who finished third, in the javelin in Class-AA, at States.

For the Girls, Redbank Valley’s Brooke Hinderliter (javelin) and Elizabeth Gourley (pole vault) and Brookville’s  Emily Rickard (high jump) and Brandy Cooper (pole vault) and for the Boys, Brookville’s Braden Smith (110 hurdles, high jump and triple jump) and Redbank Valley’s Kyle Schrecengost (pole vault) round out the All-Stars from area schools named to the Team.
