Bobcat Boys Golf Team Begins KSAC Play (08/26/14)

The Clarion High School Boys Golf Team has had two competitions, so far in the young season.

Coach Jay Kerle has sent a summary of the changes to this season’s KSAC format and an overview of the first two matches: “The format for golf this year has changed. We no longer have head to head matches. All of the matches are mega matches with all 10 schools in the KSAC participating. The players are then ranked individually and that is how we will determine All-Conference teams and MVP. As far as team standings, it will be on a points system and first place in each match will receive 10 points, second will receive 9 and this will continue with last place receiving 1 point.
As a team we finished 7th at Pinecrest last week (Wednesday, August 20) and finished 5th yesterday (Monday, August 25). at Shamrock.

Individually Jared Bish finished 2nd at Pinecrest with a 37 and tied for first yesterday with teammate Derek Lauer and Keystone’s Amber Hess. Our next match is on Thursday, August 28 at Hi Level.”

(Other Bobcat scores from Pinecrest: Derick Lauer – 44; John Allen – 55; Alex Struble – 63; Prince Brooks – 72; Mark Lui – 88)

Thanks to Coach Kerle for the summary.
