Lady Cats Do Well In Northern Cambria Volleyball Tournament (08/31/14)

Coach Shari Campbell’s Lady Bobcats had a good showing in the Northern Cambria Tournament, on Saturday (August 30th).

Overall, the Bobcats were 4-2, in matches and 7-4, in sets. They scored 259 points while giving up 226.

Pool Play action saw Clarion going 1-1 against Purchase Line (25-23, 24-26); 1-1 against Kittanning (25-22, 24-26); 2-0 against Central Cambria (25-18, 25-19); and 1-1 against Bishop Guilfoyle (25-14, 13-25).

The Cats downed Blairsville 25-14, in the Quarter-Finals and then went on to defeat Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OSLH) by the same score. They bowed out of the Tournament by dropping a tough 2-point 23-25 decision to Kittanning.

Returning All-Stater, Katie Eustice led the Bobcats with 29 points, including 10 aces, 68 assists, 15 digs and three Kills.

Anna Reed had 25 points with 4 aces, 40 digs and an assist. Jenn Ochs scored 13 points, including 3 aces, 46 digs, and twenty-eight kills. Anna McNamara tallied 15 points, two of them aces, 11 digs and fourteen kills. She handed out three assists. Keanna Over had 11 points, with an ace, 19 kills and twelve digs.

Gloria Kroh scored 3 points, including an ace. She also had 7 kills and seven digs. Brooke Allen had 3 points, including an ace, and five digs. Johnna Rapp scored 4 points and had 1 assist and a dig. Morgan Dehner scored two points. Sophie Wolfe had 6 kills and two digs and Maya Thornton had a dig.

The Lady Cats will open their dual match and KSAC season, as they travel to Clarion-Limestone, on Thursday (September, 4).
