The match started with Lexi Coull (#85) and Curt Womeldorf (#15) playing forward, Bailee Verdill (#61) filled the mid-field. Derek Dawson (#5) and Kendall Dunn (#52) were playing defense with Tyler Bingham (#1) in the net as goalie.

The game whistle blew and the Strikers pushed on through into the offensive zone. The Strikers were persistent with solid passes and shots on goal but Meadville was defending their net tightly. But after settling in, the Strikers were on the attack and Bailee’s shot on goal found the back of the net for the Strikers to get on the board to lead, 1-0.

Soon after, Bailee and Derek got a pass off to Lexi where she rolled one into the net to up the score, 2-0.

Devon Lauer (#7) and Dawson Smail (#6) jumped on field as forwards with Nikolai Todorov (#13) minding mid-field. Kaleb Wolbert (#62) joined Derek on defense.

Nikolai was controlling mid-field, and with the back support of Kaleb and Derek on defense, the Strikers were dominating the offensive zone. With several strong controlled mid-field blocked passed Nikolai got the ball off to Devon where he loaded one into the net to up the score, 3-0.

Meadville was playing strong and not backing down. They had a pushed through several times, but Tyler kept his net empty. With a pump up field from defense and a mid-field pass to the front of the net, Dawson scored a goal for the Strikers to now lead the game 4-0.

The Strikers teamwork was outstanding and kept Meadville on their toes. However, Bailee’s strong ball handling skills passed up Meadville where he scored two more goals, and a game hat trick. By half time the Strikers now lead the game 6-0.

The second half started with Dawson in the goalie net, Devon and Tyler playing forward, Nikolai in mid field, and with Kendall and Derek on defense. Both teams started out strong, but Meadville over ran the defense to get into the zone and their shot on goal found the net to finally get on the board. 6-1.

With the momentum of the goal, Meadville was pushing forward with determination. However, with some wonderful mid-field stops by Nikolai and support from Devon, Tyler soon scored two back to back goals for the Strikers to lead the game, 8-1.

Meadville was not ready to go home and barreled through catching the Strikers defense in too deep they were able to get behind them and score a goal, 8-2.

Curt and Lexi jumped on as forwards, Bailee played mid-field and Kaleb and Kendall were on defense. The Strikers had some good runs at the net with solid teamwork but Meadville was not letting any shots find the net.

The game clock was winding down, but the two team’s energy was still on high. Nikolai made contact with Devon’s corner kick to land it in the net and up the score, 9-2.However, the end of game whistle had not yet been blown and Meadville marched down field, and scored the last goal of the game, 9-3.

The Strikers played their best game of the season with discipline, control and teamwork. Coach Kelly and Coach Corey are very proud of their Striker team! However, the biggest competition for the Strikers U10 Green team will be played over the next four games with Grove City and Erie in there sight.
