Punxy’s Jake Sikora Very Impressive At Estadt Tournament And Throughout Summer (09/04/14)

One of the athletes from a team participating in the Dan Estadt Memorial Tournament has very much impressed Clarion Little League incoming President Brian Smail.  Brian shares the following article and photos. I am sure you will enjoy reading about this young man’s accomplishments.

I have mentioned in another article how much I have enjoyed watching the amazing summer that the Dugout has had.

Writing about a team other than one from Clarion is not a habit that I intend to have. However, a particular team and a particular young man have earned the attention and the respect by having a great year as well.

Joe’s Drive Inn sponsors the 8 & under team for the Punxsutawney league. This team was in every championship game of every tournament that I witnessed this summer.

Members of this team include:

Dysen Gould, Landon Myers, Noah Weaver, Zach Presloid, Porter Wood, Cooper Hallman, Sawyer Hall, Zach Sherry, Jimmie Neese, Cooper Stalhman, Chloe Presloid, Trey Wingard, Aiden Snowberger, Brody Stouffer, Zaden Gould and Jake Sikora.

If there was an MVP awarded for the cumulative summer tournaments, it would have to go to #11 for Joe’s Drive Inn, Jake Sikora. Jake plays very impressive defense at the pitching position. It is very rare that a ball that comes near him gets past him.

On offense, Jake is an exciting player to watch, hitting 16 home runs this summer in tournament play. I was able to get a picture of Jake with these home run balls. The smile on his face mirrors the smile on all of ours each time he launched them over the fence.

I am looking forward to seeing him play in the upcoming years.
