Bobcat Ian Corbett and Bulldog Jake Dougherty Named D9sports.com’s Week Nine Football Co-Players of the Week (10/30/14)

Clarion Area’s Ian Corbett has won his second Co-Player of the Week Award. Corbett, who was named Co-Player of the Week, along with Dubois Beaver Gabe French for Week Six, was joined by Redbank Valley’s Jake Dougherty for the Week Nine Award.

The players combined for over 1000, yards of offense, in their teams’ showdown last Friday (October 23), won by the Cats 58-46.

Corbett ran for 397 yards and six touchdowns. He also scored on a kickoff return covering 76 yards. Corbett’s rushing total for the game, is the second most in District Nine history. Corbett also had 5 tackles, including two sacks, on defense.

Dougherty finished the game with 614 yards passing, a PIAA State record. Seven of his passes went for touchdowns. He also had seven tackles for the Bulldog defense. Wyatt Hetrick and Korbin Hornberger, joined their teammate Dougherty on the Team, receiving Honor Roll nods.
