Lady Cats Soccer Team Downs Kane 9-0, Take 7 Game Win Streak Into D-9 Playoffs (10/18/14)

The Lady Cats celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday (October 15) evening at Clarion University’s Memorial Field with a convincing win over Kane.

Bailey Heeter led off the scoring with a goal less than 2 minutes into the match. Maci Thornton had another outstanding game, finishing with 3 goals and an assist. Nicki Glenn added a pair of goals and Callie Freenock and Kelly Beveridge scored their first goals of the season.

Freshman Alexa Hannold scored the final goal of the match in the second half.

Emily Powers, Rachel Fiscus, and Natalie Glenn shared goalkeeping duty and preserved the Clarion shutout. Powers also had a strong offensive performance for the Lady Cats.

The 9-0 victory gives Clarion a final regular season record of 11-6-1.

The Lady Cats will look to continue their 7 game undefeated streak as District 9 playoffs get underway next week.
