JH Lady Cats Lose Both Games To North Clarion (11/06/14)

“A” Game – North Clarion 29 Clarion 21

The Clarion Girls’ Junior High “A” team came up short against North Clarion Wednesday (November 5) afternoon in Frills Corner.

A slow start plagued the Lady Cats as they only scored 5 points in the entire first half. North Clarion outscored Clarion 11-8 in the third quarter to take an 8 point
going into the last frame. Clarion’s defense led to three quick baskets and the lead was cut to 21-19. North Clarion put the game away with an 8-2 run to make the final 29-21.

Clarion was led by Dorothy Kalinowski and Ali Troese as they both had 5 points. Kaylie Lutz and Wendy Beveridge finished with 4 points a piece. Gabby Weaver had a basket and Carly Best made one free throw.

 
“B” Game – North Clarion 19 Clarion 10

Clarion went scoreless in the first and third quarters and lost to the She-Wolves 19-10 in the nightcap.

The Lady Cats trailed 9-4 at the half and 14-4 at the end of three. Clarion’s offense was able to generate some offense in the last quarter by scoring six points to set the final at 19-10.

Kaitlyn Constantino led the Cats with 4 points. She was followed by Emma Spitz, Carly Best, and Abby Harbaugh who all finished with two points apiece.

Clarion will look to right the ship on Friday as they entertain St. Stephens, with the “B” game beginning at 3:20.
