Basketball: Maci Thornton Leads Lady Cats To Victory Over Cranberry (01/22/15)

The Clarion Area Lady Bobcats downed homestanding Cranberry, 47-34 on Wednesday (January 21st), behind Maci Thornton’s 25 points. She had two 3-point baskets, 8 rebounds and six steals.

The Lady Berries led 10-7 after one period, but the Lady Cats came back with a 14-9 scoring advantage, in the second frame, to take a 24-19 lead into halftime. A 15-4 Bobcat advantage, in the third, gave Clarion a 39-33 heading to the last stanza. The Berries outscored the Cats 11-8, in the fourth, to set the 47-34 final.

Nicki Glenn and Lauren Wiser had 6 points apiece for Clarion. Glenn had a 3-point basket. Anna Reed and Kelly Beveridge each scored 3 points, while Alexis Constantino and Maya Thornton each chipped in with two points.

B. Swartzfager led Cranberry with 8 points, while H. Duncan chipped in with six.

The Lady Cats game with Forest Area, scheduled for Friday (January 23rd), has been postponed. They are scheduled to host North Clarion on Monday (January 26th).
