Varsity Basketball: Bobcats And Lady Cats Fall To Karns City (01/20/15)

The Clarion Area Bobcat Boys Basketball Team traveled to Karns City on Monday, while the Lady Cats hosted the Lady Gremlins. The boys fell to the K. C. by a 75-45 score and the girls dropped their game, 70-38.

In the boys contest, the Gremlins led 21-3, after one and 41-11 at the half. The score was 55-24, Gremlins, after three.

Ceventh Lynch-Skunda led the Bobcats with 17 points. Taylor Smith added nine. Ty Burford and Cam Craig each scored five. Derek Lauer had 4 points and Thomas Plummer scored two points.

David Olszak had 23 points for the Gremlins, followed by Dalton Callihan had twenty-two.

The Lady Cats led 17-14 after on,e in their game. But Karns City scored 26 second quarter points to Clarion’s 10, to take a 40-27 lead into halftime. A 17-7 Lady Gremlin edge in the third quarter, made the score 57-34, K. C. heading to the fourth.

Maci Thornton led Clarion with 16 points. Lauren Wiser scored eight. Anna Reed and Nicki Glenn each had 3 points. Maddie Weaver, Alexis Constantino, Kelly Beveridge and Gloria Kroh chipped in with 2 points apiece.

For the Lady Gremlins, LeeAnn Gibson and Annie Hegedus had 15 points each, while Shanel Presteon had fourteen.

The Bobcat Boys are scheduled to host Cranberry on Wedneday (January 21st), while the Lady Cats are scheduled to travel to Cranberry.
