Five Bobcat Wrestlers Named To TCS/CE All-Star Team (03/22/15)

The Tri-County Sunday and Courier Express newspapers in Dubois have named their 2015 Wrestling All-Star Team. This year’s squad, announced today (Sunday, March 22nd), includes five Clarion Area Wrestlers.

Leading the local contingent is junior Zach Sintobin, who made the First Team at 195. Sintobin went 30-9 on the season. He was the District Nine Class A Champion and finished third in the Northwest Regional Meet, to advance to States. This was the third year in a row that Sintobin advanced to Regionals.

Making the Second Team was senior Jacob Troutman (170), who finished second in the District Nine Tournament to advance to Regionals. Troutman, who was late getting on the mat this past season, due to a football injury, had a fine 15-5 record.

Three Bobcats, who each had 20-plus wins on the season, were named Honorable Mention. They were: junior Alex Struble (106) who had a record of 27-9, while finishing second in Districts and advancing to Regionals; Colton Rapp (145), a freshman with a record of 28-12, who also finished second in Districts and advancing to Regionals; and junior Prince Brooks who finished the season with a 20-15 record.

This year’s TCS/CE Wrestler of the Year is Brookville junior Tate Ortz (120) who went 41-3. Ortz won the District and Regional Titles and finished third at States.
