Bobcat Baseball Team Downs Forest Area (04/07/15)

The Clarion Area Baseball Team got their 2015 season off to a good start, downing the homestanding Forest Area Fires 23-0, in three innings, at Marienville on Monday (April 6th).

The Bobcats scored ten runs in the first inning, three in the second and ten more in the third.

Clarion was led by Max Lane, who went 3 for 3 at the plate, including a double, with four RBIs and two runs scored. Lane also shined on the mound, pitching two scoreless innings, striking out 6 and giving up just one hit, in picking up the win.

For his effort, Lane was named the Bobcats’ Player of the Game by Coach Rob Jewett. Coach Jewett said, “Max had a great day at the plate going 3 for 3 with a double and 4 RBI’s. He was also pretty dominate on the mound throwing 2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 6.”

Adrian Weber also had a fine game, at the plate and on the mound. He was 3 for 4, with four RBIs and three runs scored. Weber worked one inning on the mound and threw two strikeouts, giving up no hits.

Derek Lauer went 1 for 2 with two RBIs. He scored twice. Caleb Wilson went 1 for 3, driving in 2 runs and scoring four times. Spencer Miller went 1 for 2. He drove in a run and scored twice.

Ryan Anthony had a double in one appearance at the plate. He drove in two runs and scored once. Twin brother Reed Anthony’s stats were similar, as he had a double in one at bat, driving in one. Leo Aiello was 1 for 3, with an RBI and three runs scored.

Thomas Plummer had three RBIs and scored a run. Kyle Patterson scored once and drove a run home. Taylor Smith stole a base and scored twice and Cam Craig scored once.
