Bobcat Baseball Team Goes 1-1 In Last Week’s Games (04/23/15)

The Clarion Area Baseball Team had two away games last week, downing Moniteau 2-1, on Tuesday (April 14th) and falling to DuBois Central Catholic 15-7, on Wednesday (April 15th).

Max Lane, tossed a complete game, 3-hitter against Moniteau. Lane threw 3 strikeouts and walked two.

Each team scored a run in the second. Clarion scored the decisive run in the fifth. The Bobcats finished the game with 5 hits.

Spencer Miller led the Cats, with two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Leo Aiello had a single and scored a run. Also getting hits for the Bobcats were Derek Lauer and Spencer Miller.

Coach Rob Jewett named Lane the Bobcat’s Player of the Game.

In Wednesday’s game, the Cardinals opened up with a 9 run first inning and moved to a 13-0 lead, scoring 4 more, in the third. The Bobcats answered with 7 runs,  in the fourth, to close the deficit to 13-7. DCC added two more runs in the fifth, to set the 15-7 final score.

The Cats had five hits. Adrian Weber had a single, 2 RBIs and scored a run. Spencer Miller, Luke Nellis and Derek Lauer each had a single, an RBI and each scored once. Thomas Plummer singled and scored a run. Taylor Smith scored once and Caleb Wilson and Leo Aiello each had RBIs.

Miller was named the Bobcat’s Player of the Game.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Forest Area today.
