Clarion MMA Victorious At 2015 NAGA World Grappling Championship (04/28/15)

Members of Clarion MMA recently competed at their largest tournament to date. The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) is the world’s largest mixed grappling tournament circuit with over 300,000 competitors worldwide.

On Saturday & Sunday, April 25th and 26th, NAGA held their 20th annual World Grappling Championship tournament. This was a two day event, Adults & Teens (14-17 years old) competed on Saturday, Children (13 years & younger) competed on Sunday. Over a dozen countries sent teams to the NAGA World Championship!

The competitors were divided by age, weight and skill level, with expert being the toughest possible division. Coached by Leo & Hillary LeFay, as well as Angelo Broglia, here are the results for Clarion MMA:

Mike LeFay entered two expert teen divisions and came away with silver and bronze in those. He then entered the adult division and took bronze there as well. Haven LeFay won bronze in his expert division.                                                                                                                                                                                                   Ethan Rex bumped up a weight class and age division to win silver medals twice.
Joe Winters won gold and silver in his divisions and then entered a higher level division to earn another silver medal.
Jill Winters won gold and silver.
Jack Winters battled to earn fourth place in a large bracket.
Ashton Rex won two silver medals.
Breckin Rex was the gold medal champion of his division.

All gold medal winners were awarded swords.
