MONITEAU GAME
The Clarion Lady Cats Softball Team fell to the Moniteau Warriors on the road 16-3. Clarion opened the scoring in the first as Keanna Over led off the game with a double. Alexis Constantino moved Over to third via a sacrifice bunt. Over then scored on a wild pitch to give Clarion the early 1-0 lead.

Moniteau went up for good in the bottom of the first scoring on an RBI double by Cortney Claypoole, an error and an RBI single by Sara Hull. They added two more runs in the second and one more in the third for a 6-1 lead.

Clarion closed the gap with a pair of runs in the fourth. Constantino reached on a hit and advanced to second when Johnna Rapp reached on an error. Cora Zerfoss infield single and an error by the Warrior defense plated Constantino and Rapp to cut the lead to 6-3. That would be as close as they would get though as Moniteau scored ten times in the bottom of the frame to make the final score 16-3.

Zerfoss, Over and Constantino had the hits for the Bobcats While Sadie Rudesyle and Constantino shared the pitching duties.
BROCKWAY GAME
Clarion Area Softball won the hit battle 12-9 but couldn’t push enough runs across to get the win, instead losing 8-6 to visiting Brockway.

Sydney Kiser was hot at the plate for the Cats as she recorded her first career Home Run with a deep blast over the left field fence. She also had a single.

Brockway took the early lead with a pair of runs in the first and a single tally in the second. Clarion fought back with four runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-3 lead. Kiser and Maya Thornton opened the inning with back to back singles. Kyra Craig reached on an error loading the bases. Kiser was forced out at the plate as Aliya Reed reached on a fielders choice. Keanna Over then reached on an error scoring scoring Thornton.

Another fielder’s choice put Constantino on base scoring Craig. Johnna Rapp then stepped to the plate and delivered with an RBI single scoring Reed giving Clarion the 4-3 lead. Brockway regained the lead 5-4 in the third to once again go ahead 5-4. Kisers blast in the bottom of the inning tied the score at 5-5.

Once again The Rovers took the lead with two runs in the fourth. Clarion countered with a single run in bottom half as Rapp started some two out lightning with a double and scored on a Cora Zerfoss single to cut Brockways lead to 7-6. That would be as close as the Bobcats would get though as they were held scoreless the last three innings missing several chances to get back in the game as they ended up stranding eight base runners. Brockway added an insurance run in the sixth to make the final 8-6.

Alexis Constantino went the distance for Clarion and pitched well, with four strikeouts and two walks while only four of the Brockway runs were earned. The Bobcat Defense committed four errors in the game.

Constantino, Rapp, Zerfoss, Kiser, and Thornton each recorded a pair of hits for Clarion. Sadie Rudesyle and Over also added singles. Over, Rapp, Kiser, Thornton, Kyra Craig and Reed each scored a run.Over, Constantino, Rapp, Zerfoss and Kiser each had an RBI.
