Bobcat Baseball Team Downs Forest Area, Finishes Regular Season At 12-3 (05/16/15)

Adrian Weber, Derek Lauer and Reed Anthony combined for a three-hit shutout and the homestanding Clarion Area Baseball Team pounded out 12 hits, to down the Forest Area Flames, 13-0, at Clarion County Park. The regular season ending victory moved the Bobcats’ record to 12 and 3.

The Cats scored 4 runs in the first inning, 2 in the second, 4 in the third and three more in the fourth.

Weber picked up the win, going three innings, giving up just one hit, while striking out one. He had a single, an RBI and scored a run. Lauer went 2 for 2 at the plate, including a triple, scoring twice and driving in a pair. He pitched one inning, striking out 1 and giving up one hit. For his efforts, Lauer was named the Cats’ Player of the Game, by Manager, Rob Jewett.

Anthony went one inning on the mound, striking out 2 and giving up one hit. He had a single and scored once.

Three other Bobcats had extra base hits, with with Spencer Milller and Leo Aiello both getting triples and Luke Nellis collecting a pair of doubles. Miller had three hits, in all, with two RBIs and two runs scored. Aiello scored two runs and Nellis drove in a pair and scored twice.

Thomas Plummer had a single, drove in a run and scored once. Max Lane had one hit. Kyle Patterson scored once and Cameron Craig had an RBI.

The Bobcats now head to the District Nine Class-A Playoffs, as the Number 4 Seed. They will host the Number 5 Otto-Eldred Terrors, on Thursday (May 21st) at 4:30 P.M., at Clarion County Park.
