Number Of Bobcats Named To Spring All-KSAC Teams, Liam Raehsler Named Boys’ Track Co-MVP (05/18/15)

The Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference announced their 2015 Spring All-Conference Teams today (Monday, May 18th) and a number of Clarion Area athletes are on the squads. Bobcat distance runner, Liam Raehsler was named the Boys Track Co-MVP along with Karns City sprinter Logan Moroney.

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

The Bobcat Boys’ Track And Field Team had a number of selections. Liam Raehsler was named to the First Team in both the 1600 and 3200. He was also named to the Second Team in the 800. Ian Corbett was named to the First Team in the long jump and gathered Second Team honors in both the 100 and 200. Josh Kriebel made the Second Team in the 110 hurdles.

Zach Hill was named to the Second Team in the high jump. The 4×100 relay team, consisting of Hill, Corbett, Matt Wagner and Ethan Straffin also made the Second Team.

Boys Track Co-MVPs were Raehsler and Moroney. Field MVP is Moniteau’s Brendon Stamm, who was named to the First Team in the shot put and shared First Team honors in the discus with Redbank Valley’s Noah Bowser.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

The Clarion Area Girls’ Track And Field Team had two First Team selections. Julie Kenneson was named to the First Team as a high jumper along with Forest Madison Mills in the 800. Jenn Ochs was named to the Second Team in the javelin.

Girls’ Track MVP was Kacye Bobnar from North Clarion, who was named First Team in the 800 and 3200 and was a member of the Lady Wolves’ 4×800 team, along withe Ereka Sherman, MichaelaHiggins, Abbie Schmader and Rachel Baker who tied Cranberry’s 4×800 team, consisting of Erin Merryman Madeline Keenan, Susie Sheatz and Tifany Best for Second Team honors. Moniteau’s Maura Kimmel was named Girls’ Field MVP. Kimmel was named to the First Team in the shot put and discus.

BASEBALL

The Bobcat Baseball Team had three First Team and three Second Team selections. Named to the First Team were Max Lane at pitcher, and Derek Lauer and Spencer Miller as infielders. Lane was also named as a Second Team catcher. Also on the Second Team are first baseman Adrian Weber and outfielder Thomas Plummer.

Cranberry’s Dylan Cyphert was named MVP. Cyphert made the First Team at pitcher and as an outfielder.

SOFTBALL

The Lady Cats Softball Team had one First Team selection, two Second Team selections and a Third Teamer. Infielder Cora Zerfoss was named to the First Team. Fellow infielder Keanna Over was selected to the Second Team, as was outfielder Maya Thornton. Sadie Rudesyle was named to the Third Team as a pitcher.

Moniteau’s Kennedy DeMatteis, who was named to the First Team as a pitcher, garnered MVP honors.
