Bobcat Golf Summary (08/30/15)

The Clarion Area High School golfers had a pretty full schedule, last week.

On Monday (August 24) Bobcats, Jared Bish and John Allen competed in the St. Marys Invitational at Bavarian Hills Golf Course. The 18 hole event was won by Keystone’s Amber Hess, who was tied with St. Marys’ Nick Wendel after regulation at 74. Hess parred the first playoff hole to take the crown.

Bish finished in a tie for second with Brookville’s Levi Rosen. Both were one stroke off the lead at 75. Allen shot a 101.

On Tuesday (August 25), in a KSAC Mega Match at Hi-Level Golf Course, in Kossuth. Hess again finished first, carding a nine-hole total of 35. Venango Catholic’s Brady Kingston finished one shot behind at 36, to lead the Vikings to the win. Bish finished in a five way tie for third, at two strokes back, with a 37.

Also for the Bobcats: Allen shot a 46, Mark Lui carded a 60, Zach Laughlin had a 62 and Kenton Porter finished with a 65.

The Lady Cats were in action, on  Wednesday (August 26th), in a KSAC Mega Match, at Hi-Level. Medalist was A-C Valley’s Ellie Thompson, who carded a 38. Claire Saylor finished third with a 47, on stroke behind Thompson’s teammate Allie Sherman, who captured second place.

Also for the Lady Cats: Natalie Thompson shot a 52 and Marissa Kiser had a 56.

On Thursday, the Bobcats competed in a KSAC Mega Match, at Pine Grove Golf Course at Grove City. This time Bish was the Medalist with a one-under par 35. Kingston finished second, with a 38, to lead Venango Catholic to the win.
