Golfers Start Season With Mega Matches, Bish Medalist In Two Matches (08/22/15)

The Clarion Boys’ and Girls’ Golf Teams started their seasons this week by participating in KSAC Mega Matches.

The Boys played one match at Cross Creek Resort and another at Clarion Oaks. Bobcat Jared Bish was the Medalist at both events, shooting 36 in each. Keystone’s Amber Hess,who competes in the Boys’ matches during the regular season, finished second in both events, carding a 39 at Cross Creek and a 37 at Clarion Oaks.

Joining Bish, for the Bobcats were: John Allen (49), Zach Laughlin (67), Mark Lui (68) and Kenton Porter (69), at Cross Creek. At Clarion Oaks: Allan (50), Laughlin (61), Lui (62) and Porter (67).

Moniteau won the Cross Creek event with a 220. The Bobcats finished ninth. Venango Catholic won the Clarion Oaks match with a 210. Clarion finished ninth there as well.

The Girls’ Match was held at Foxburg. Lady Cat Claire Saylor finished second, with a 47. Saylor finished just two strokes behind Medalist Ellie Thompson, from A-C Valley, who carded a 45.

Also competing for the Lady Cats was Natalie Thompson, who had a 67.
