Jon Kemmer Having Great Year For Corpus Christi, Subject Of Excellent Article (08/30/15)

Clarion Area High School and C.A.L.L. alum, Jon Kemmer is having a super season with the Houston Astros’ Double A affiliate, Corpus Christi Hooks.

As of the article, Jon was leading the Texas League with a .325 average, he was tied with Hooks teammate Teoscar Hernandez for 2nd place in home runs, with 17.  He also was leading the league in slugging percentage at .578 and was second in on base percentage, with .423. (Jon has since added a homer (18) and improved his batting average (.327).

The Hooks won the Texas League’s first half championship and are currently second in the second half standings. They are 89-42 overall, 4.5 games better than Oakland Athletics’ affiliate Midland RockHounds.

The Hooks posted an excellent article on Jon, on their website, on August 25th.

The article suggests that Jon may be moving up on Astros to prospect lists, because of his fine play and speaks of him being polite and his blue collar work ethic, something anyone who knows this fine young man, can attest to, (you should be very proud, Ed and Jackie!!!!) and a crowd favorite.

The article has a great hometown feel, mentioning Jon’s growing up in Shippenville, his playing football and baseball at Clarion area, his enjoying hunting here in Clarion County and more. I feel that are readers will absolutely love the article.
