Shorthanded Lady Cats Soccer Team Hangs Tough Against Ridgway (09/24/15)

(By Coach Chris Schonbachler)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats continue to work hard though a stretch of injuries that have plagued the starting lineup. On Thursday evening, for the second straight game, the girls played with 10 rather than the typical number of 11.

The Lady Elkers took the lead midway through the first half thanks to a goal from Caitlin Viglone. Viglone added a second goal late in the second half.

Throughout the game the Lady Cat defense thwarted relentless attacks from the talented Lady Elker strikers. Maddie Weaver led the Clarion defense with yet another outstanding performance. Wendy Beveridge has 22 saves in goal, adding to her impressive stats as a Freshman goalkeeper.

The girls next match is Thursday, October 1st at Karns City.
