Bobcats Compete At Rigway Invitational (10/12/15)

The Clarion Bobcats Cross Country team traveled to the annual Ridgway Invitational, on a beautiful fall morning, this Saturday, October 10, 2015.

For the boys, Adam Bettwy returned to competition from injury, to lead the team with a 31st place finish, crossing the line in 18.49. He was followed, five seconds later, by 34th place teammate Crowe Thiem. Marshall Powers crossed next for the Bobcats with a time of 20.07, followed with a personal record by Noah Cole (21.31), Nick Schill (21.56), Giovanni Giamboni (23.49), Jacob Smith (23.50), Victor Stahlman (24.57) and Daniel Ketner (26.20). Senior team captain Kyle Bettwy, Jimmy Smathers, and Noah Schill did not compete due to injury.

For the girls, Katie Craig led the varsity girl,s with a 21st place finish, in a personal best time of 21:54. Following her across the line were teammates Chelsea Mason (24:09), Gabriella Fleming (25.37), Liz Saver (26.49), Lili Frakes (26.56), and Shamecka Dittman (30.23).

In Junior High competition, Nathaniel Lerch led the Bobcats again, finishing 5th with a time of 9:49. He was followed by 37th place Nate Datko (11:35) and Alex Cousins in 39th (11:46). Beau Verdill finished in 51st with a time of 12:28.

Two runners represented the junior high girls team. Emma Spitz finished 22nd, crossing the line at 12:39, followed by Morgan Kahle in 38th at 14:11. Full results are available on Gingerbreadmanrunning.com.

The Bobcats last home meet begins at 4:30 this Tuesday, October 13th at the Clarion County Park. They host Karns City and Union in their last regular season meet, before the KSAC Championships at North Clarion, on October 22nd. District IX Championships will be back in Ridgway on October 31st.
