On Saturday, the FNC Coyotes lost the final game of the regular season, dropping to a record of 2-4. It was a close matchup, with the final score of the game being 14-0 in favor of Franklin-Orange. Without a doubt, the Franklin-Orange team was the toughest and most disciplined team we faced all season. With that in mind, the FNC kids did an outstanding job; not only this week on Saturday, but throughout the season.

It was a great season with a great group of kids and coaching staff. We started the season with 4 specific goals (aside from winning). We wanted to teach the kids Leadership, Perseverance, Teamwork, and Good Sportsmanship. I like to think that we were successful in each of those 4 areas. More importantly, the kids enjoyed themselves.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the kids and their parents for a great season. The kids did a fantastic job and we couldn’t be more proud of them. None of that would have been possible without the support of the parents. Additionally, I’d like to thank our coaching staff. In addition to myself, we were fortunate enough to have 10 other football coaches that sacrificed their time on a regular basis.

Now, we move on with 10 seniors leaving the team, many of which plan to play for Clarion. As such, our recruiting for next season has already begun. Fortunately, we have a great pool of younger kids to step up and lead the team for next season. On top of that, we will likely have some coaching changes, as well. With all of those changes in mind, we look forward to an even better season next year.

(Thanks to Coach McClung for this article. Good Work, Coyotes!!!!)
