Lady Cats Volleyball Team Falls To McDowell, Downs Union (10/02/15)

In the Clarion Area Lady Bobcats, continual quest to improve by playing quality, larger schools, the team hosted McDowell, from Erie, on Wednesday (September 20th). The young Lady Cats played tough extending the match to five games before falling 3-2.

The Lady Trojans opened the match with two straight wins, 25-18 and 25-8. But the Lady Cats bounced back to win the next two games, 27-25 and 25-22. McDowell won the deciding game, 15-11.

For Clarion Johnna Rapp had 11 points and three digs. Gloria Kroh had 6 points, 29 assists, a dig and two kills. Maya Thornton contributed 5 points, five kills and three digs. Anna Reed had 5 points and twenty-three digs.

Alexis Constantino  scored 5 points and had three digs. Olivia Burns scored 3 points. She also had 12 kills and twelve digs. Devon Quinn had had 1 point, a pair of assists and a dig.Kianna Over had eight kills. Alexa Krieble had a kill and a dig and Sophie Wolf had a kill.

The Lady Cats bounced back on Thursday (October 1st) with a three-set victory over homestanding Union, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-17. Olivia Burns had 16 kills, while Gloria Kroh handed out twenty-six assists. Maya Thornton had seven kills. Dorothy Kalinowski and Sophie Wolf had four and three kills respectively.

The Lady Cats will host the Venango Catholic, Lady Vikings on Tuesday (October 6th).
