Bobcat Wrestlers Finish Fourth At Patrick Morales Memorial Tournament, Sintobin Wins Championship (01/17/16)

The Clarion Area Bobcat Wrestling Team competed at the Patrick Morales Memorial Tournament at Falconer High School in Falconer New York, this past Friday and Saturday (January 15th and 16th), finishing fourth out of eighteen schools.

The Cats had eight individual place winners, led by senior Zach Sintobin, who claimed the Championship at 195. Sintobin, who is undefeated at 13-0 on the season, had a great match in the finals. Ron Rapp said, “… Zac Sintobin’s finals match was the best I have ever seen him wrestle.”

Also making it to the finals was another senior, 152 pounder Prince Brooks, who wrestled very well in the final, but lost the tough match, to take second.

Two Bobcats came away with third place finishes. Junior Mike LeFay at 160 and freshman Logan Dehner at 99 each won their consolation finals match.

Junior Alex Struble at 113 and sophomore Tom Wurster at 120 earned fourth place.

Two other Bobcats took home medals from their weekend’s work.Seniors Adrian Weber, at 132 and Alexander Burkhart, at 182, took fifth place and sixth place respectively.

Several other Bobcat wrestlers rounded out the local contingent. Colton Rapp, Caleb Bailey, and Ryley McMaster each finished with 2-and-2 records, while Seth Nellis went 1-2 for the weekend.
