Basketball: Lady Cats Down Forest Area (02/06/16)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Basketball Team traveled to Marienville’s East Forest High School on Friday (February 5th) and came away with a 34-23 victory over the Forest Area Lady Fires. Kelly Beveridge led Clarion with thirteen points.

Gloria Kroh, Anna Reed and Maya Thornton each scored 4 points, with Maddie Weaver, Sophie Wolf and Wendy Beveridge each scoring two points. Jenna Beichner scored one point.

Morgan Silvis scored thirteen points for Forest Area.

The Bobcats led 6-4 after the first period, but trailed 11-9 at the half. The third quarter saw the Cats with a 12-6 advantage, to give Clarion a 21-17 lead. The 34-23 final was set, with the Cats scoring 13 and the Fires 6, in the fourth.

The Lady Cats are now 11-9 on the season and will travel to Punxsutawney, on Monday (February 8th).
