Bobcats Fall To Coudersport In District Nine Class-A Basketball Quarterfinal Game (02/21/16)

The Bobcat Boys basketball season came to an end on Friday (February 19th) with a 61-51 loss to Kane in the District Nine Class-A quarterfinals.

Coudersport held a 16-11 lead after one. Cameron Craig scored eight of his twenty-four points in the quarter to keep the Cats close. Craig scored eight more points in the second period, including two treys. Ryan Anthony and Reed Anthony each had threes in the frame, with the Cats outscoring the Falcons 19-14.  and the score was knotted at 30-all, at the half. Craig ended up with four treys and Ryan Anthony, two on the night.

Jonathan Smith had a big third quarter, scoring six of his fourteen points, while Coudersport’s Darren Keglovits scored thirteen of his game leading twenty-seven points in the frame. The Falcons outscored the Cats by two, 14-12, in the frame to take a 44-42 lead into the final stanza.

Clarion had nine points in the fourth, on two treys by Craig and a field goal and subsequent free throw by Smith. But the Falcons scored seventeen in the period, to come away with the 61-51 victory.

For Clarion: Ryan Anthony had 6 points, Reed Anthony had 3 and Brendon Miller and Ty Burford had two points apiece.

Owen Chambers added fourteen points for the Falcons.
