Boys Basketball: Bobcats Come Back From Loss To St. Marys, With Big Win At Clarion-Limestone (02/11/16)

The Clarion Area Boys Basketball Team came up with a huge 70-63 win, against homestanding Clarion-Limestone, on Wednesday (February 10th). The victory was a good comeback from a 79-72 loss to visiting St. Marys, on Monday (February 8th), and gives the Bobcats momentum heading into the District Nine Class-A playoffs.

Jon Smith led the Cats against the Lions with twenty points. He was joined by two other Bobcats, in double figures. Ceventh Lynch-Skunda had 15 points and Brendan Miller had ten.

Clarion outscored C-L 11-8 in the first period and led 33-28 at halftime. With an 18-13 Bobcat advantage in the third, Clarion led 51-41 heading into the final stanza. Both teams scored 12 to set the 70-63 final.

Ty Burford contributed 8 points for the Bobcats, while Spencer Miller added seven. Reed Anthony and Ryan Anthony each added five points.

Noah Rankin had twenty-two points and Daniel Callen added eighteen for C-L.

Smith had 22 points in the game against St. Marys, with Lynch-Skunda adding 13, while Brendan Miller and Reed Anthony each had twelve points. Anthony had four 3-point buckets.

Clarion led 22-17 after one and 40-38 at halftime. The Cats led by one, 55-54 after three. But the Dutch outscored the Bobcats 25-18, in the final quarter to pull out the 79-72 win.

Nick Bauer and Parker Housler led the Dutch with 14 points apiece.
