Jonathan Smith, Anna Reed And Kelly Beveridge Named To Sportsmanship I All-Star Game (03/23/16)

Clarion Area senior basketball players Jonathan Smith, Anna Reed and Kelly Beveridge have been selected to play in the 16th Annual Sportsmanship I/Clarion County YMCA District 9 All-Star Games. The games will be played at Keystone High School on Saturday, April 2.

The girls’ game will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the boys’ game will be at approximately 8:00 p.m. The games which are a fundraiser for Camp Coffman and are a tribute to the outgoing seniors.

Jonathan will be on the Boys- Team Navy Blue, Coached by Aaron Straub from Elk County Catholic and Matt Gasbarre from Kane. Others on the team are: Anderson Nicka, Austin; (former Bobcat),Taylor Smith, Clarion-Limestone; Evan Lutz, Cranberry; Zach Sloan, DuBois; Jordan Seefeldt, Port Allegany; Dylan Huey, Punxsutawney; Parker Housler, St. Marys, Cole Morris, Union; and Brady Kingston, Venango Catholic.

The Boys – Team Red will be coached by Clarion-Limestone’s Joe Ferguson and Brian Furman from Coudersport. Red Team players are: Kurt Schindler, Brookville; Trae Smith, Cameron County; Noah Rankin, Clarion-Limestone; Cody Spaid, Clearfield; Darren Keglovits, Coudersport; Christian LaParne, DuBois; Central Catholic; Zayne Hargenrader, North Clarion; Heath Stewart, Otto-Eldred; Sam Heeter, Redbank Valley; and Jeremy Breier, Ridgway.

Anna and Kelly will play for the Girls – Team Royal Blue, Coached by Mark Powell of Brookville and Mike Carlson of Punxsutawney. Others on the team are: Morgan Cratty, A-C Valley; Elaina Powell, Brookville; Rachel Glenny, Clearfield; Courtney Chandler, DuBois; Shaley Shick, Union; Brooke Hinderliter, Redbank Valley; Jessica Kifer, Ridgway; and Ava Homan, Venango Catholic.

The girls’ teams are broken up into Team White, coached by North Clarion’s Terry Dreihaup and Karns City’s Dave Kerschbaumer, and Team Royal Blue, mentored by Brookville’s Mark Powell and Punxsutawney’s Mike Carlson.

Members of the team are: Hali Olson, Brookville; Emily Ryan, Clearfield; Emily Morey, Coudersport; Dayna DeSalve, DuBois; Morgan Silvis, Forest Area; LeeAnn Gibson, Karns City; Amber Hess, Keystone; Abbie Schmader, North Clarion; Becca Dougherty, Redbank Valley; and Rachel Bauer, St. Marys.

Others chosen to play but are unable to participate are: Kyle Huff, Elk County Catholic; Brandon Brabham -Oswayo Valley; Brady Bauer, St. Marys; and Puxsutawney’s Hope Bridge.
