Baseball And Softball Recaps: Bobcats Victorious, Lady Cats Fall To Gremlins (04/30/16)

The Clarion Area Baseball and Softball Teams each hosted Karns City on Tuesday (April 26th). The Bobcat Baseball Team downed the visiting Gremlins 4-2, at Clarion County Park, while the Lady Cats fell to the Gremlins 5-3.

Baseball

Adrian Weber threw eight strikeouts, while giving up just three hits, in a complete game victory. Karns City scored first with a run in the top of the third. The Bobcats came back, scoring all their runs in the bottom of the second. The Gremlins scored another run, in the top of the sixth, to set the 4-2 final.

Brendan Miller had two hits and an RBI, while Ryan Anthony singled and drove in two runs. Weber and Leo Aiello each had a double and Cam Craig singled. Weber, Miller, Anthony and Craig scored the Bobcat runs.

Softball

The Lady Gremlins opened the scoring, at Paul A. Weaver Park, with two runs in the top  of the first. Clarion tied the game at 2-all, with runs in the bottom of the third and fourth. Karns City answered with two more runs, in the top of the fifth.

The Lady Cats closed the gap to 4-3, with a run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Gremlins answered with a run in the top of the seventh, setting the 5-3 final.

Johnna Rapp had two hits and scored a run. Maya Thornton had a home run and Sadie Rudesyle had a double. Keanna Over had an RBI. Carly Best also scored, for the Lady Cats.
