Track And Field: Cats Turn In Some Good Performances At DeMans Invitational (04/23/16)

The Clarion Area Boys and Girls Track And Field Teams competed in the DeMans Invitational Track Meet, at Brookville High School, on Saturday (April 23rd) and a number of them turned in some fine performances.

Boys

Josh Kriebel had the top performance for the Bobcats winning the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.35. He also took second in the 300 hurdles, with a District Meet qualifying time of 42.25. Brendan Zerfoss just missed a first in the 100, taking second in a photo finish, with a time of 11.74.

Marshall Powers captured fourth in the 400, finishing in 55.15. Adam Bettwy took a sixth in the 1600, at 4:50.87 and a seventh in the 800, with a 2:14.25 time. Kyle Patterson also had a seventh, with a 45.33 in the 300 hurdles.

Also competing was Kyle Bettwy.

Girls

Gabby Weaver had the top place finish for the Lady Cats, with a fourth in the 300 hurdles, finishing with a time of 51.55.  Wendy Beveridge had three top ten performances, finishing fifth in the triple jump at 32-9.5, sixth in the 100 with a time of 13.45, which was a District Meet qualifying time and tenth in the long jump, with a leap of 14-7.5.

Lexi Lauer finished in a sixth place tie, in the high jump, clearin g 4-6. Elsa Tovar threw the discus 83-3, to finish ninth.

Also competing were Meredith Burkhart, Phylicia Hockman, Gloria Kroh and Hannah Phillips.

The Bobcats and Lady Cats will travel to A-C Valley on Wednesday (April 27th).
