Track And Field: Lady Cats Fall To North Clarion And Keystone (04/24/16)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Track And Field Team participated in a Tri-meet at North Clarion on Wednesday (April 20th), against the host Lady Wolves and the Keystone Lady Panthers. The Cats held close to both schools, but fell 78-71 to North Clarion and 77-73 to Keystone.

Clarion had a number of good performances, led by Wendy Beveridge, Gabby Weaver and Forest Mills.

Beveridge won three individual events, the 100 (13.7), long jump (14-8) and 31-11.5), as well as being a member of the winning 4×100 relay (54.9) along with Mills, Weaver and Alexa Kriebel. Weaver won two individual events, the 100 hurdles (18.0) and the 300 hurdles (51.3), while Mills won the 800 (2:41.5) and in addition to the 4×100 win, both were part of the winning 4×400 relay (4:33.2) along with Hannah Phillips and Phylicia Hockman.

Clarion had one other individual winner, with Lexi Lauer taking the high jump (4-9). The Bobcats swept the 100 hurdles, with Gloria Kroh finishing second, behind Weaver and Laurer taking third. Kroh also had thirds in the 300 hurdles, long jump and high jump, where she tied teammate Katie Craig. Craig also had a second in the 800 and a third in the 1600.

The Lady Cats and Bobcat Boys competed in the DeMans Invitational in Brookville on Saturday (April 23rd); both will travel to A-C Valley on Wednesday (April 29th).
