Tri-City Thunder Wins Thunder Memorial Tournament, Finish Second At Harborcreek (05/31/16)

The Tri-City Thunder 14 and Under girls softball travel team won the Thunder Memorial Tournament, in Titusville, over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Tri-City team is made up of players from Clarion, Cranberry, Franklin, and Titusville. They were undefeated over the weekend playing 5 games in two days. They defeated Cochranton SWAT in the quarterfinals 7-4, beat the St. Marys Pounders 10-5 in the semifinals and then went on to beat the Punxsy Purrannahs in the championship game 14-4.

The Thunder also placed second in their opening tournament of the year, in Harborcreek, at the Strike Force Tournament. They were 4-2 over that weekend and lost to the Dream Crushers (out of the Conneaut Lake area) in the finals.

Members of the team are Abby Simpson, Kaitlyn Constantino, Lizzy Hoovler, Emily Finley, Kaylyn Fry, Paige Whitehair, Amber Scott, Lindsey Kemp, Gracie Stryffeler, McKenna Houck, Maddie Cornelius, and Lydia Peterson.
