Number Of Bobcats And Lady Cats Named To TCS/C-E All-Star Squads (06/26/16)

The 2016 Tri-County Sunday and Courier Express Spring Sports All-Star Teams have been announced and Clarion Area High School is well represented.

The DuBois based newspapers announced their Track and Field All-Stars in the June 12th edition of the TCS and then announced their Baseball and Softball All-Stars in the June 26th edition.

Clarion Area had two track and field all-stars. Junior Forest Madison Mills was named to the Girls Squad in the 800 run. Making the Boys Team was junior Josh Kriebel, who was named in the 300 hurdles.

Girls Field Athlete Of The Year was Redbank Valley’s Brooke Hinderliter and the Girls Track Athlete Of The Year was Caitlin Viglione from Johnsonburg. Boys Track Athlete Of The Year was Ryan Thrush of Brookville. Boys Field Athlete Of The Year was Tom Bojalad of St. Marys.

The TCS/C-E Softball Team is loaded with seven Lady Cats, five of them on the First Team. Those making the First Team were senior designated player Anna Reed, senior infielder Keanna Over, junior infielder Cora Zerfoss, sophomore pitcher Sadie Rudesyle and sophomore outfielder Maya Thornton.

Senior catcher Johnna Rapp made the Second Team and freshman Carly Best was named Honorable Mention.

Softball Player Of The Year is DuBois Central Catholic’s Jordy Frank. Coach Of The Year is DuBois Central Catholic’s George Heigel.

Bobcat senior infielder Brendan Miller was named to the First Team on the Baseball Squad. Joining Miller on this year’s All-Stars were senior pitcher Adrian Weber who made the Second Team and Honorable Mention selectees, senior Leo Aiello and junior Reed Anthony.

Baseball Player Of The Year was DuBois Central Catholic’s Jake Miknis and Coach Of The Year was Andy Sayers also from DuBois Central Catholic.
