Tri-City Thunder 14U Softball Team Wins Indiana Summer Showcase Tournament (06/09/16)

The Tri-City Thunder 14U travel softball team won their secondconsecutive tournament in successive weeks as they took first place in the twelve team rain shortened Indiana Summer Showcase Tournament played during the weekend of June 3rd -5th.

The Thunder went undefeated with a 4-0 record in pool play on Saturday afternoon. They defeated the Pennsylvania Cardinals (Johnstown) 3-1, the Clarion Cyclones 11-4, The Cobras (Clarion) 8-2, and the Vipers (Allegheny County) 7-3 in pool play.

When bracket play began on Sunday, the Thunder was leading the Pittsburgh Phantoms 5-1 in the first inning when the rains came. Because Tri-City was the only undefeated team in pool play on Saturday they were awarded the championship.
