DCC Tournament

The Nini Manfredo / Dubois Central Catholic Soccer Tournament was played on Saturday Sept 17th. Six teams were invited to the event, Curwensville, DCC, Clarion, Redbank Valley, Punxsutawney, and Smethport. Clarion began the day with a hard fought loss to a talented DCC team. Alexa Kriebel found the back of the net with 2 minutes remaining in the game, but the Lady Cats soon ran out of time in the 2-1 defeat.

The girls rebounded an hour later with a dominant 5-0 win over Smethport. Forest Mills notched her first hat trick of the season, adding to the Lady Cat scoring were Alexa Kriebel and Courtney Schonbachler.

In the final match of the day, Clarion met up with Punxsutawney. The Lady Cats started off strong, maintaining possession of the ball for most of the first half. The Punxy defense limited Clarion’s scoring opportunities, until Forest Mills squeaked a shot past the Punxy goalkeeper, late in the 2nd half. Clarion held on for the 1-0 victory and a 3rd place finish in the tournament.
