Basketball: Lady Cats Down Forest Area, Clarion-Limestone (01/07/17)

The Clarion Area Girls Basketball Team picked up two wins this week, downing homestanding Forest Area 41-37, on Wednesday (January 4th), at Marienville, followed by a 52-32 home victory over Clarion-Limestone, on Friday (January 6th).

Forest Area Game

The Lady Cats found themselves down after each of the first three periods, 11-9 after one, 19-15 at the half and 34-27 after the third. But a 14-3 Clarion advantage in the finale gave the Cats the 41-37 victory.

Alexis Constantino led the Cats with 17 points, followed by Wendy Beveridge who netted fourteen. Kaylie Lutz, and Sadie Rudesyle each had 3 points with K. K. Girvan and Kaitlyn Constantino contributing two points each.

Bianca Hetrick led the Fires with fifteen points.

Clarion-Limestone Game

The Lady Cats led after every quarter, 11-4 after one, 23-8 at the half and 38-16 after three.

Alexis Constantino again led Clarion, scoring 26 points, while gathering in five steals. Wendy Beveridge also hit double-figures scoring 12 points, including three treys.

Kaitlyn Constantino had eight points. Kaylie Lutz, Cassie Acey and Ali Troese added two points apiece.

Maddie Craig led the Lady Lions with eleven points.

The Lady Cats will host Moniteau on Tuesday (January 10th).
