Basketball: Lady Cats, Bobcats Successful Against Clarion-Limestone (02/16/17)

The Clarion Area Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams both had successful outings against Clarion-Limestone on Wednesday (February 15th), with the Lady Cats defeating the homestanding Lady Lions 80-41 and the Bobcats downing the visiting Lions 69-56.

Lady Cats vs Lady Lions

Alexis Constantino had a monster game, with 32 points, while Gloria Kroh and Wendy Beveridge each recorded double-doubles. Kroh had 11 points and 17 rebounds and Beveridge had 10 points and 13 blocked shots. Katlyn Constantino had 12 points, giving Clarion four players in double-figures.

The Lady Cats led who led 31-20 at halftime, had a 28 point third quarter.

The Lady Cats finished their season at 8-14.

Bobcats vs Lions

Three Bobcats scored in double-figures. Austin Hummell led the way with 16 points, followed by Ty Burford with 14 and Cameron Craig with thirteen. Ceventh Lynch-Skunda, Ryan Anthony and Spencer Miller each had 7 points with Lynch-Skunda and Anthony both connecting on a three-pointer.

Reed Anthony and Zak Bauer each had three points.

The Bobcats led 15-13 after one, 29-27 at the half and 53-43 after three. Each team scored sixteen in the final stanza to set the 69-56 final.

Dan Callen led the Lions with thirty points.

The two teams will face each other for the third time next week, in the District Nine playoffs.
