Junior High A Team Wins A Pair (03/01/17)

Cranberry was back in the town and both teams came out playing hard in the 1st quarter. Clarion held a slight 7-6 lead at the end of one. Cranberry surged in the second leading Clarion 13-7 in the quarter for a half time score which gave Cranberry a 19-15 Advantage!

After half time adjustments, the Bobcats owned the 3rd quarter making a 13-4 run behind the scoring of Ethan Burford and Cal German. Ben Murtha chipped in a number of assists. The 3rd quarter closed 28-23, Clarion lead.

An evenly played 4th quarter resulted in a 13-12 run for the Bobcats. With time running out, The Berries were forced to foul and the Bobcats won a well played game 39-35.

Scoring:
Burford (17) Craddock (2) German (9) Murtha (4) Pastor (3) Schmader (2) Verdill (2). The Bobcats held #21 Stahlman to 6 points, #11 led the Berries with 11 points.

Next up for the Bobcats was a rematch with North Clarion. The Bobcats used a familiar formula, of getting out of the gate quickly supported by a strong 2nd quarter. The first quarter saw the teams feeling each other out, The Bobcats held a slight lead 9-8. The second quarter saw the Bobcats turned up the intensity on both ends of the floor to make a 17-5 run, making the halftime score 26-13, Advantage Clarion!

Skylar Pastor saw considerable minutes in the 1st half as Tyler Schmader was in foul trouble.

A strong 3rd quarter with everyone seeing minutes gave the Bobcats an 11-8 advantage, 37-21 entering the final quarter. An evenly played 4th quarter, teams trading 9 points each resulted in 46-30 victory for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats had aneven scoring attack behind Burford(13) Craddock(8) German (9) Murtha (8) Schmader (4) Verdill (3) and Pastor (1).
