Bobcat Track And Field Athletes Have Good Showing At States (05/29/17)

The Clarion Area Track and Field Teams had a contingent of seven athletes compete at the PIAA Class AA State Meet on Friday, May 26th and Saturday, May 27th.

Brendan Zerfoss competed in two individual events, the boys’ 100 and the 200. He ran an 11.54 in the 100, which was good for 19th place and a 22.88 in the 200, earning a 10th place.

Other competitors in individual events included Lexi Lauer, Forest Madison Mills and Austin Hummell.

Lexi, competing in the girls’ high jump, cleared five feet, giving her a tie for 12th place. Austin Forest Madison ran a 2:27.51, in the girls’ 800. Her time was good for 17th place. Austin finished 22nd in the boys’ 800 with a time of 2:06.32.

Brendan was also a part of the Bobcat Boys’4×100 relay team, joining Marshall Powers, Archer Mills and Ty Burford. The quartet ran a 44:96 to garner 15th place.

Lexi and Forest Madison both had personal bests.

District Nine’s lone champion was Brookville’s Ryan Thrush, who repeated as the 400 gold medalist.
