Lady Cats Down Cameron County In D9 Quarterfinal, Rudesyle Throws One-Hitter (05/27/17)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats opened the 2017 District Nine Class A Softball Playoffs in fine fashion, downing homestanding Cameron County Lady Raiders 10-0, at Emporium on Wednesday (May 24th).

Sadie Rudesyle had a great day, in the circle, throwing hit, fifteen strikeout performance. Cameron County’s Alyia McKimm had their only hit, a fourth inning double. Rudesyle scored a run, in her own behalf.

The Lady Cats scored a pair of runs in each of the first two innings, five in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Maya Thornton had 4 hits for Clarion, including a two run home run, in the sixth inning. Thornton had four RBIs on the day. Cora Zerfoss had 3 singles and a double, with an RBI and four runs scored. Carly Best had 3 hits including a double, 2 RBIs and three runs scored.

Sydney Kiser had three hits and an RBI. Alexis Constantino had a pair of singles, scored a run and drove in a run. Kaitlyn Constantino doubled and scored a run and MacKenzie DiTullio had a run also.

The Lady Cats will face Coudersport in the district semifinals.
