Track And Field Roundup (05/06/17)

The Clarion Girls Track and Field Team defeated Clarion-Limestone 102-48 and Redbank Valley 79-71, on Wednesday (May 3rd) in a tri-meet at Clarion-Limestone, while the Bobcat Boys competed against the same schools at Redbank Valley, that same day. The Bobcats defeated Clarion-Limestone 94-55. No results were received in the match-up with Redbank Valley.

GIRLS

Chelsea Mason was a triple winner, taking the 1600 (6:15), the 3200 (13:45) and running a leg on the victorious 4×800 relay (11:10.5) along with Ailish Nagy, Phylicia Hockman and Forest Madison Mills.

Mills was also a triple winner. In addition to the 4×800 win, Mills won the 800 (2:32) and was on the winning 4×400 relay, along with Hockman, Hannah Phillips and Gabby Weaver. Weaver, Phillips and Laken Lewis were double winners. Weaver won the 100 hurdles (17.3) and Phillips was victorious in the 400 (1:04.8) to go along with the 4×400 win. Lewis won two individual events, breaking her own school record, in the pole vault, going 9-9 and taking the long jump (15-4.5). Lewis also finished second in the 100 hurdles.

Weaver finished second in the 300 hurdles and Hockman was second in the 800.Katie Craig had two second place finishes, in the 1600 and 3200. Meredith Burkhart was second in the javelin. Wendy Beveridge had seconds in the long and triple jumps. Alexa Kriebel was second in the 100 and Lexie Lauer was second in the high jump.

BOYS

Adam Bettwy was a triple winner, taking the 1600 (4:53), the 3200 (11:06) and running a leg of the victorious 4×800 relay (9:29.19) along with Nathaniel Lerch, Nick Schill and Austin Hummell. Hummell was a double winner, also winning the 800 (2:09).

Marshall Powers and Ty Burford were double winners, with both running legs in the victorious 4×100 relay (45.12).  Powers also won the 100 (11.4) and Burford won the triple jump (38-10). Powers was also second in the 300 hurdles and Burford was third in the 100.

Mills was second in the high jump and Jimmy Smathers was second in the javelin. Schill was third in the 800 and Lerch was third in the 1600.

Jacob Burns had thirds in the 300 hurdles and triple jump. Also getting thirds for the Bobcats were: Isaac Kim in the 400, Frank Weber in the 3200, Tom Hearst in the pole vault and Clay McElravy in the discus.

The Bobcats and Lady Cats will travel to Union on Tuesday.
