Bobcat senior Reed Anthony was named the D9Sports.com Pitcher of the Year and his coach, Rob Jewett, was selected as Manager of the Year.

Anthony made 13 appearances on the mound for Clarion, compiling an 11-1 record.  In his 70 1/3 innings pitched, Anthony struck out 76 batters and surrendered only 38 hits.  His earned run average was a miniscule 0.40 and opposing hitters batted a paltry .153 against him.  In May, Anthony was chosen as the KSAC MVP and First Team All-Star Pitcher.

Head Coach Rob Jewett was at the helm of the Bobcat’s historic 2017 season, during which the team became one of the most successful in Clarion Area High School history.

Under Jewett Clarion compiled an overall record of 21-4, with their 13-1 conference mark earning them the KSAC Championship.  In the postseason the Bobcats finished as the District 9 Class A Runner-ups and advanced to the PIAA Championship Game, earning runner-up status when they fell to Meyersdale 2-0.
