Clarion County Commissioners Proclaim Saturday “Terry Henry Day” (06/16/17)

In their meeting this past Tuesday, June 13th, the Clarion County Commissioners, issued a proclamation declaring tomorrow, Saturday, June 17th “COACH TERRY HENRY DAY.”

The proclamation coincides with Coach Henry’s induction into the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) Hall of Fame, with the ceremony taking place tomorrow at noon, in Harrisburg. The Hall of Fame inductions are part of the Big 33 celebration which features the Big 33 Classic Football Game (Pennsylvania vs Maryland). The new inductees will also be introduced at halftime of the game.

 

The proclamation which bears the seal of the Commissioners Office – Clarion County, PA reads as follows:

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Football head coach Terry Henry positively impacted many young men’s lives in Clarion County as coach at East Brady High School during the 70’s and 80’s; and

WHEREAS, He was head coach at East Brady High School for nine years with 69 wins, 16 losses, and 3 ties, the Little Twelve title game seven times and having a winning percentage of almost 80%: and,

WHEREAS, He was named Little 12 Conference Coach of the Year in 1975, 1976, 1977,1982, and 1983; and,

WHEREAS, He also turned around a struggling Seneca Valley football team as Head Coach for 12 years with 74 wins, 48 losses, 4 ties; and,

WHEREAS, He was a role model and mentor to future NFL, Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly wyo played his high school years in Clarion County and who has said Terry Henry is the definition of a great Coach,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT WE, the Clarion County Commissioners, do hereby declare June 17, 2017 to be COACH TERRY HENRY DAY in Clarion County.
