Clark Electric Senior League Softball Team Moves To 6-0 With Win Over Brinc Building Products (New Bethlehem (06/16/17)

In a battle of undefeated softball teams, the Clarion girls from Clark Electric defeated New Bethlehem / Brinc Building Products team by a score of 9 –6  .

Clarion would start the scoring in the bottom of the first with Ava Cherico connecting for a double with 1 out. Jordy Best would then hit her 2nd inside the park homer of the season to make it 2-0.

New Bethlehem would then tie the score in the top of the 3rd. Caylen Rearick would get on base on an error, Gabby Dinger would then lay down a bunt, the throw to first was bobbled and Rearick scored. Elaina Miller would then hit a sacrifice fly to score Dinger to make it 2-2.

Clarion went ahead in the bottom of the 3rd with Rebecca Ketner leading off with a single. Abby Himes then hit a double to score Ketner. Jordy Best drove in Himes with a single and Brenna Campbell would drive in Best with another base hit. Kylee Beers would then drive in Campbell on a fielder’s choice. Cassidy MaKray would then send a ball deep into the gap of the outfield for a triple. Brenna Copenhaver then drove in MaKray with a single to make it 7-2.

For new Bethlehem in the top of the 5th, Gabby Dinger would walk followed by an inside the park home run by Elaina Miller.

New Be would plate another run to make it 7-5, the rally ended when Clarion catcher Jordy Best threw out the runner leading off 1st base. Abby Himes would lead off the bottom of the 5th with a double, followed by another RBI base hit by Jordy Best. Brenna Campbell then brought Best home on a fielder’s choice to make the score 9-5.

New Bethlehem would score a run in the top of the 7th, before Kylee Beers struck out the last batter with a runner on 2nd to make the final 9-6.

Beers pitched the entire game with 10 strikeouts. Clarion moves to 6-0 on the season.
