Clarion-Limestone Boys Soccer Wins Two (09/19/17)

Clarion-Limestone vs. Keystone
The Clarion-Limestone Boys Soccer team came away with a 5-3 victory over Keystone on Thursday, September 14th.
Kyle Schonbachler lead the scoring for the Lions off an unassisted goal and a penalty kick. Schonbachler also assisted on Isaac Kim’s goal in the first half. Also scoring goals for the lions in the first half, were Connor Nichols off a penalty kick and Donovan Montgomery notched an unassisted  goal.
  Brody Coleman and Max Thompson tallied goals for Keystone. Harrison Porter stopped 3 out of 6 shots on net for the lions to secure the victory.

(CSZ correspondant Mindi Verdill had this assesment of the Lions’ play, “It was a hard fought game by all!  The passing, execution and teamwork being displayed by the C-L Lions is certainly fun to watch….especially this early in the season!!)

 

Clarion-Limestone vs. Redbank Valley
The Lions held the Redbank Valley Bulldogs scoreless on route to an 8-0 victory on Tuesday, September 19th.
Braden Peters lead the scoring for the Lions with 5 goals. Peters scored 3 of his goals in the first half off assists by Ty Blake, Isaac Kim, and Lucas Baker. Kyle Schonbachler also tallied a goal in the first half, off a free kick to leave it 4-0 at the half.
In the second half, Peters would tally two more goals off assists by Ty Blake and Kyle Schonbachler. Beau Verdill would also chip in a goal off an assist by Marshall Powers and Ty Blake would round out the scoring off an assist by Austin Coull to leave it 8-0.
Harrison Porter secured the victory in net by stopping all 7 shots he faced. The Lions will travel to West Forest on Thursday for a 4:00 start.
